About Fédération des francophones de la Colombie-Britannique

Fédération des francophones de la Colombie-Britannique (FFCB) is the advocacy organization representing Francophones throughout the province. Our mission is to represent the community in all its diversity before public authorities, and to advocate for and defend the rights of Francophones as an official language minority community.

We support the organizations within our network in creating enriching and inclusive experiences for Francophones and Francophiles across the province, while helping grow and strengthen our community.

FFCB is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and enthusiastic individual to fill the position of Community Development Manager.

The department consists of five team members who support FFCB member organizations and the Francophone immigration sector (RIFCB), coordinate various community collaboration forums, and foster cooperation among members to develop a shared community vision and position.

Position Overview

The Community Development Manager leads the Community Development team, ensuring that FFCB’s strategic priorities are implemented effectively and that team members collaborate efficiently across projects and initiatives.

The individual will oversee community collaboration bodies, particularly community forums, and coordinate the implementation of the Comprehensive Community Development Plan, which serves as the community’s strategic roadmap.

The position also involves strengthening alignment between the missions of FFCB and the Réseau en immigration francophone de la Colombie-Britannique (RIFCB) while respecting each organization’s unique priorities and realities. In this capacity, the Community Development Manager oversees the implementation of FFCB’s strategic directions and supports the Immigration Sector Manager in monitoring and implementing RIFCB’s strategic priorities.

  • Maintain relationships with government ministries and institutions, including Canadian Heritage, to support the implementation of partnership agreements and advocate for the needs of the Francophone minority community;
  • Lead the collaborative development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Comprehensive Community Development Plan, while supporting recruitment of new members to both the Community Forum and FFCB;
  • Collaborate with the management team to foster an engaging organizational culture, staff satisfaction, a healthy work environment, and professional development opportunities;
  • Provide strategic leadership by bringing forward the needs and perspectives of member organizations and staff to senior management and the Board of Directors to inform organizational decision-making;
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Team Responsibilities to Supervise and Coordinate

  • Oversee member support services addressing organizational challenges, including governance, funding, recruitment, and member engagement;
  • Guide the long-term development of training programs, educational approaches, coaching services, and capacity-building tools for member organizations;
  • Supervise and support the planning and facilitation of events, working groups, and collaboration forums organized by FFCB and RIFCB;
  • Provide strategic and operational support to the EDIA (Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility) coordinator in advancing community initiatives related to EDIA, anti-racism, and Indigenous relations;
  • In collaboration with other managers, oversee the operational coordination of RIFCB and ensure activities and services align with member needs and strategic priorities within the Francophone immigration sector;
  • Support the development of new initiatives and ensure team activities remain aligned with the strategic priorities of both FFCB and RIFCB.
