Emploi CB: A New Gateway to Employment for Francophones in British Columbia

Publié le: 02/03/2026

February 27, 2026 marks a defining milestone for the Francophone and Francophile community of British Columbia. The Emploi CB program is officially launched with a clear mission: to facilitate access to employment, showcase Francophone talent, and build concrete bridges between job seekers and employers across the province.

A Service Designed by and for the Community

Led by the Fédération des francophones de la Colombie-Britannique and developed in close collaboration with agreement partners including the SDECB, La Boussole, Collège Éducacentre, Société francophone de Victoria, and the Centre culturel francophone de l’Okanagan, Emploi CB is the result of a collective effort.

This “hand in hand” development is rooted in a strong conviction: the professional integration of Francophones requires coordinated, accessible services tailored to the realities of the labour market.

A Gateway to Employment in French

Emploi CB acts as a centralized access point for:

  • Career guidance

  • Personalized support with employment and career development specialists

  • Interview preparation and adaptation of professional tools to the local market

  • Connections with actively hiring employers

  • Exploration of training and reskilling pathways

The objective is twofold: to support individuals in their professional journey while addressing employers’ needs for qualified bilingual talent.

Responding to Labour Market Realities

British Columbia is experiencing growing demand for professionals able to thrive in bilingual and intercultural environments. Yet many Francophones and Francophiles face barriers, including credential recognition, understanding local market expectations, and accessing professional networks.

Emploi CB acts as a strategic lever to reduce these gaps: transforming skills into opportunities, accelerating workforce integration, and strengthening talent retention.

An Impact Beyond Employment

Beyond individual support, the program contributes to:

  • Strengthening the economic vitality of the Francophone community in British Columbia

  • Supporting the inclusion of newcomers

  • Building sustainable connections between community organizations and employers

  • Promoting bilingualism as a competitive advantage for the province

Each supported career pathway becomes a driver of broader community development.

An Invitation to Take the Next Step

With its official launch, Emploi CB is rolling out employment services across British Columbia and invites:

  • Job seekers to access structured, personalized support

  • Employers to recruit qualified Francophone and bilingual talent

  • Community partners to co-develop coordinated solutions for professional integration in British Columbia

Emploi CB is the employment assistance service in British Columbia that connects Francophones and Francophiles to a network of employers, career resources, and professional opportunities across the province.

The future of working in French starts today.
