JOB DESCRIPTION: Come join our team! Alliance Française Canada Pacific (www.afcapa.ca) is hiring an experienced and motivated French as a Foreign Language (FLE) Teacher to join our dynamic team!
Start Date: Starting September 8, 2026
Work Location: Alliance Française Vancouver
Responsibilities:
• Teaching French to adult learners: Group classes, private lessons, in-person, and online courses. Levels beginner to C2, conversation classes.
• Teaching French to children (ages 3.5–5, 5–7, and 8–11) and teenagers (ages 12+): Group classes, private lessons, in-person, and online courses (teenagers only). Levels beginner to B2,
conversation classes.
• Teaching French for corporate clients and the Canadian government.
• Hosting cultural workshops based on the teacher’s areas of interest and participating in the Alliance’s cultural events.
• Assessing candidate performance for TEF, TCF, DELF, and DALF exams.
Position Details: Full-time position, 5 days per week, with 24 teaching hours per week; 2-year duration (renewable upon mutual agreement). We place high value on work-life balance. The workweek is structured across 5 days with two consecutive days off, even though the center is open 7 days a week.  Schedules are designed to avoid split shifts and overly long workdays.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
• Significant Experience Required: 12 months full-time (1,200 hours) teaching diverse age groups (young children, teenagers, adults) in both online and in-person group settings.
• Preferred Certification: DELF-DALF, TEF, and TCF Examiner-Evaluator.
• Candidate Profile: Passionate, flexible, motivated, enthusiastic, autonomous, team-oriented, comfortable with technology (online teaching, interactive whiteboards), creative, innovative, and
thoroughly familiar with CEFR levels.
REQUIRED DEGREE: Master 2 in FLE (French as a Foreign Language) required.
CONTRACT TYPE: Fixed-term contract (CDD), renewable as a permanent contract (CDI).
WEEKLY HOURS: 24 teaching hours / week
DURATION: 2 years, renewable
COMPENSATION: $37.35 / hour (teaching time) for the first 12 months + benefits (extended health insurance contribution, December bonus, public transit allowance).
